An example of a Z decay into two tau particles which decays further into other particles. In this case one of the tau particles have decayed into a muon and two neutrinos. The muon is marked as a green cross to the left while the neutrinos disappears undetected. The other tau particle decays into a small shower of particles (the red tracks).
In tau events there should be 2, 4 or possibly 6 charged tracks (and any number of neutral ones), these are marked with bright colours in WIRED (in this case one bright green and three bright red). Also note that quite some energy is missing due to the undetected neutrinos.
