When the Z particle decays into two quarks, two jets of particles, one from each quark, will be created. In the picture the reconstruction program has coloured the tracks of particles from the two jets with red and green colours respectively.

The jets mainly consist of hadrons, but also other kinds of particles are possible. In the picture the green crosses indicates that a muon was part of the green jet.
