Tracking chamber: The ionization produced along the trajectory of the particle is recorded with high precision, so that charged particle trajectories can be accurately determined. If the tracking chamber is surrounded by a magnet then the path of the charged particle is curved. The radius of curvature and direction tell the momentum and the sign of the charge.
