Use the viewer controls and the following information to identify the particles. When you have done this click on the tracks to see if you are right.

Particle information

• Electrons are negatively charged and very light, which means that they tend to travel rapidly
• Positrons are identical to electrons, except they are positively charged.
• s are neutral and have extremely short lifetimes.
• s are neutral and have extremely short lifetimes - they decay almost immediately to other particles.
• particles are neutral and have short lifetimes.
• particles are negatively charged and have fairly long lifetimes.
• particles are like positively charged s.

Remember, this part of the detector only detects charged particles - the paths of uncharged particles have to be deduced from the paths that we can see. In particular, can you deduce where the K⁰'s path is?
