Teaching: Undergraduate Physics courses to the students of Physics Department as well as introductory Physics courses to other departments of Ioannina University. Courses offered to Graduate Students for Master Diplomas and PhD.

Research: Astronomy, Climatology, Atmospheric and Environmental Physics, Elementary Particles, Condensed Matter, Plasma Physics, Nuclear Physics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, High Energy Physics, Spectroscopy, Spectroscopy and Physics of Materials.

The High Energy Physics Laboratory (HEPL) participates in the preparations of the CMS experiment at the European Center of Nuclear Physics (CERN) in Geneva. CMS is the biggest detector Ever built for the investigation pp- interactions at 14 TeV center of mass energy.
The Elementary Particles Physics Group scientific activities include research in Modern Gauge Theories, Supersymmetry, String Theory and the Unification of the Fundamental Forces of Nature.
